What is your favorite Christmas memory?

One year I got a tunnel! It was like a giant slinky with material wrapped around it. I had to crawl through it to get to the living room where the rest of the presents were. That tunnel was the best. Not only could you crawl throught it, but also wear it as a dress!

My paternal grandparents lived in California and we lived in New York. Every other Christmas, they would fly out to spend time with us. Since we lived in a smallish town, they would fly into Syracuse (about a two hour drive from our home). Our family would travel together to the airport to pick them up. It was a great time together and always included a dinner out (something rare for us). We always got to the airport early and watched the people come and go, making up stories about who they were, where they were going and who they were meeting. When I would finally see my grandparents come off the plane, I knew that Christmas had officially started.

My two younger sisters would always sleep in my bed so the person who woke up earliest would wake the others up immediately. I loved that!

I do not know if this is my favorite memory but it is a fun one.

When I was 6/7ish I got a cassette player/recorder. My brother and I recorded what we got for Christmas that year...I still have it and play it and it is fun to hear the young voices.

In fact I need to get it out and play it for my children this year.
